Foreword from David Gavaghan
I am delighted that you are keen to know more about this exciting role at SIB.
SIB is committed to continuing to play a central part in helping government departments and other public bodies to build a sustainable public infrastructure fit for the 21st Century. I joined SIB some four years ago because I wanted to be part of such a fantastic opportunity. Sustainable infrastructure is a key facilitator in helping to build a stronger economy, a fairer society and a cleaner environment.
Much has already been achieved with projects and programmes of investment now emerging out of the ground with more than £1.2 billion each year being invested in our infrastructure. But much more needs to be done. The Executive’s new draft ten year Investment Strategy (2008-2018) sets out Northern Ireland’s most ambitious infrastructure programme with the anticipation of investment of more than £20 billion. The draft Budget confirms that an average of £1.8bn will be invested in each of the next three years, a further step change in the quantum and scope of our activities.
We already have a very strong and diverse team of Strategic Advisers and Programme Managers that add significant value from their extensive professional knowledge and skills. To keep this standard, we are keen to continue to recruit top quality people that are looking to join an organisation that is committed to excellence.
This is a demanding role that requires high levels of leadership, imagination, innovation and strong interpersonal skills. We will expect you to deliver outstanding results - you will have the responsibility and freedom to operate within a corporate framework that will help you to be successful.
SIB can offer you a proposition that is outstanding at every level - personal, professional and societal. Please contact our recruitment advisers to pursue your interest in this role.
I look forward to hearing from you.
David Gavaghan,
Chief Executive
